To take part in an internship or traineeship in the U.S., you need a J1 Intern or J1 Trainee visa. At Stage-USA we help you obtain the DS-2019 form (sponsorship), and getting you prepared for your J1 visa application at the U.S. Embassy or Consulate.

- We take the work from you and your host company. Stage-USA informs and maintains contact with the company in order to complete the process as quickly as possible.
- The right sponsor choice: There are dozens of sponsor organizations in the U.S., each organization can only provide specific DS 2019 forms for specific fields. Each sponsor also has their own rules / guidelines. Stage-USA is a registered partner of multiple experienced sponsor organizations in order to cover almost all fields/industries. Through a personal interview between you and Stage-USA, we can determine what sponsor suits your program best.
- Your visa will be processed according to normal procedure within 6-8 weeks. An expedited procedure is possible for an extra fee.
- We assist you with making an appointment to the US Consulate/Embassy, and preparing you for the interview.
- Support with obtaining your Social Security Number, and opening a US Bank account.
- You may always contact us with any questions about your visa before or during your stay.
- We provide an interim and final evaluation. In addition, we can provide any feedback regarding your training.

J-1 Visa Conditions Intern Category
(Internship or Graduation Assignment) To qualify for this category you must: Have a secured internship placement with a company in the United States that is no longer than 12 months in duration. Be a foreign national who is either: 1) Currently enrolled in and pursuing a degree in a post-secondary academic institution outside of the United States. 2) Already graduated (within 12 months from the program start date) from a post-secondary academic institution outside of the United States, and intend to participate in a structured and guided work-based internship program in your specific academic field.
J-1 Visa Conditions Intern Category
Know English well enough to perform successfully in your internship. Plan to leave the United States within 30 days of your internship program completion. J-1 Visa Conditions Trainee Category (Traineeship) To qualify for this category you must: Have a secured traineeship placement with a company in the United States that is no longer than 18 months in duration. Be a foreign national who has either: 1) A degree or professional certificate from a foreign post-secondary academic institution AND at least one year of prior related work experience in your occupational field (acquired outside the United States) or, 2) Five years of work experience (outside the United States) in your occupational field, and intend to participate in a structured and guided work-based training program in your specific occupational field. Know English well enough to perform successfully in your traineeship. Plan to leave the US within 30 days of your traineeship program completion.
