Description:

A residential engineering and inspection firm based in Chicago is seeking a creative and motivated graphic designer to join their team. The intern will have the opportunity to learn how visual materials, project documentation, presentations, reports, and marketing content are developed and prepared for clients and business use. The position provides hands-on experience in the engineering and construction industry while developing an understanding of daily business, design, and project communication processes.

Role and Responsibilities:

• Support daily graphic design and visual communication needs, creating and adapting visual content for presentations, reports, client materials, and digital channels.
• Design, format, and refine engineering reports, presentations, and project documents to ensure they are professional, visually engaging, and aligned with company branding.
• Organize and maintain design files, templates, images, and other visual assets.
• Review and edit visual materials for quality, accuracy, formatting, and brand consistency.
• Provide general administrative and project support, assisting the team with documentation, coordination, and other tasks as required.

Requirements:

• Post-secondary degree and/or relevant work experience.
• Excellent spoken and written communication skills in English.
• Interest in graphic design, architecture, engineering, construction, real estate, or related industries.
• Good understanding of basic design and business processes, with a practical approach to problem-solving.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational and time-management skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with a team.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud and Microsoft Office applications.
• Basic understanding of typography, layout, visual composition, and digital design.
• Comfortable working in a hands-on and fast-paced professional environment.
