Description:

A luxury interior design company based in New York City is seeking a creative individual to join their team as a trainee. The ideal candidate will support designers on projects that blend modern Italian design with traditional décor and architecture, while gaining hands-on experience and learning from experienced professionals in a fast-paced, high-end design environment.

Role and Responsibilities:

• Conduct market research on interior design and architectural trends to inform projects.
• Support the development of new designs, using design and pricing software.
• Assist with client inquiries and provide support across sales activities.
• Provide constructive input and feedback on design concepts and client requests.
• Contribute to the development of multi-unit designs for end users and retail clients.
• Prepare samples and deliver presentations to internal teams and clients.
• Support the coordination and execution of showroom events.
• Communicate the concept, functionality, and aesthetic vision of each design proposal.

Requirements:

• Post-secondary degree and/or relevant work experience.
• Excellent spoken and written communication skills in English.
• Knowledge of design softwares, such as AutoCAD and Rivet.
• Ability to work well both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Strong organizational and time management skills while managing multiple design projects and deadlines.
• Openness to feedback and ability to adapt designs based on client and project needs.
